Try me out today and see how I can help you excel well beyond the classroom.

I have been teaching for 30 years at a variety of schools, of which a complete list can be made available if required. I have most recently worked as a Tutor for the Walsall Virtual School under the employ of Walsall MBC, as a supply teacher and private tutor for my own company Personal Education Services and currently sub-contract my services to a private tuition company based in Aldridge, Walsall. Excellent references can be obtained on request.

During my extremely successful career I have had the experience of whole class teaching as well as providing 1:1 and small group tuition at many schools across all year groups including a secondment as acting Deputy Head Teacher for two terms, individually, as part of a job share, covering for PPA, reading and maths intervention tutor, KS1 & 2 specialist Maths Teacher, PE delivery and PE coordinator. I am looking to expand my career into other areas of education and wish to offer my services further as a private tutor as I believe the skills I have developed over the years in the teaching profession will prove an asset.

I am a qualified Every Child a Reader (Reading Recovery and Toe-by-Toe) and Boosting Reading Potential teacher and have had responsibility for this curriculum area for the past eight years. Reading was a priority on the school development plan and my data for this intervention showed well above expected rates of progress were made by all children involved. This data had to be fed back to be part of the national statistics for this intervention. My delivery of these reading sessions was observed on numerous occasions by Beccie Hawes (Rushall Inclusion Consultant) amongst other professionals and regularly been judged outstanding. I was also responsible for the training, management and whole school delivery of BRP - identifying children who would benefit from the intervention, monitoring data and evaluating the impact of the scheme. I have additionally supported children who were identified as ‘dyslexic’ by delivery of the daily intervention ‘Toe-by-Toe’.

I qualified as an Every Child Counts (Numbers Count) teacher in 2011. I led this 1 to 1 maths intervention for two years. Again the children made accelerated progress and data had to be recorded nationally. This also had a positive impact on KS1 maths results. I led KS1 booster group preparation for SATs in 2016. I have had extensive experience of teaching maths groups for many years across KS1 and KS2.

I have previously had full responsibility for the planning and delivery of the whole school PE curriculum across the age range from EYFS to Year 6. In addition to this, I have run an extensive range of extremely successful after-school and lunchtime sports and educational clubs. These extra curricular clubs have included football, netball, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, maths, reading and dodgeball amongst many others where all children across the age-range have been included. I regularly entered teams into football and netball tournaments, dance festivals, cheerleading events, cricket competitions, tennis festivals, golf competitions and numerous other activities. This often required many hours of organisation and planning but the rewards were immense as you saw children’s confidence grow. As a direct result of all this hard work, a school most recently achieved the Sainsbury's School Games Gold Award as well as the Youth Sports Trust Gold Standard for consecutive years. I have trained older children in the role of Sports Leader and have overseen them run carefully organised activities including Sports Day. I am a qualified mini bus driver with a full, clean license and business insurance cover which has enabled me to take children to additional extra curricular activities and venues.

Over the years my role has enabled me to see the development of the whole child, value everyone as a unique individual, and to see the growth of personalities in and out of the classroom where I firmly believe that every child should be given opportunities to succeed in their own area of strength. I have extensive experience across the age-range from EYFS to Y6 in every curriculum area and am fully trained and competent up to and including Y9+.

I have received a wide variety of INSET which has also enhanced my CPD. I have up to date safeguarding, PREVENT, first aid at work and full, enhanced DBS clearance on the update service with a legal right to live and work in the UK. I am a fully qualified mentor for children and adults.

I have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the Early Years, KS1 and KS2 curriculum as well as official SATS testing for Y2 and Y6. I was a KS2 Maths SATs marker for many years working for EdExcel and Pearson Education. I also privately tutor for 11+ exams as well as offering basic Primary and Secondary school curriculum enhancement with provision also made for core adult skills. I specialise in 11+ preparation, KS2 SATs, English to Y9 and Maths to GCSE Higher Level. I have QTS for the age range of 3-14. I am also a fully accredited and qualified proof-reader and copy-editor.  I am sure that I can provide you with the benefit of my experience and proven high quality input towards all areas.
